About
An independent California initiative exploring long-term inland options for California's existing commercial spent nuclear fuel inventory.
The Randsburg Project was created to explore whether one privately owned property in Eastern Kern County could contribute to California's evaluation of long-term inland opportunities connected to the DOE Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campus initiative.
The effort is focused on opening a serious conversation among government, utilities, universities, industry, local communities, and other stakeholders.
The project has followed public discussions involving spent nuclear fuel, utility planning, community engagement, and federal nuclear policy. The goal is to contribute a practical California option for further evaluation.
